I’d been doing some construction work for a few years but when that slowed down I got laid off.

JobCentre Plus put me in touch with this course as it was an opportunity to really brush up on my skills and qualifications. 

The NIS course was brilliant, I really enjoyed it. The tutors were great and are so good at explaining things and making sure everybody on the course is following.

While I was finishing up, an opportunity came up with Taylor Woodrow to go and be a general operative at the Dudley Interchange Project.

Of course, I jumped at a full-time contract. Working on a flagship project like Dudley Interchange is really exciting – it’s what it’s all about. 

I’ve a wife and two young children so having a secure job as a result of the NIS course, I really feel like I’m on the right path now.
