Three long-term unemployed learners from the Black Country have come full circle from Jobcentre to Jobcentre with the help of NIS.
John and Liam, both from Dudley, and Justin, from Stourbridge, all started work this week on the refurbishment of the Jobcentre Plus building in Telford with Conamar.
The trio finished their four-week course at the BCIMO branch of the Transport, Rail and Infrastructure Academy in partnership with City of Wolverhampton College and West Midlands Combined Authority last Friday.
With the support of NIS and our construction partner MadiganGill, they had the weekend to recover before starting their new jobs.
Speaking for the three, John said: “The course was great, the trainer was brilliant and all credit to NIS for helping us get into work so quickly.
“It’s been brilliant working on this refurbishment after being out of work for so long.”
Site manager for Conamar, Morgan Davies, said: “I’m really impressed with them – they’re polite, turn up on time and are hardworking which is all you can ask for!”
