Following another robust audit, this time of our specialist rail business by the Railway Industry Supplier Quality Scheme – RISQS – we are delighted to be successful in maintaining our registration.
Since its inception, rail training and niche delivery solutions have been key pillars of the NIS Group offer and we welcome the audit outcome as demonstration of our teams’ continued dedication to the sector.
The RISQS core audit follows on from a successful review by rail skills governing body NSAR – the National Skills Academy for Rail – which saw us awarded silver ratings in compliance and delivery while achieving gold for premises.
Among other things, RISQS auditors looked at our documented management systems to ensure they meet their requirements for quality, safety and environmental in addition to reviewing our induction, training, and competency processes and records.
Following the audit, NIS did not receive any non-conformities or corrective findings. This is demonstrative of our staff’s continued commitment to safe and compliant delivery across the company.
Dave Sargent, NIS Chief Education Officer, said: “The successful RISQS audit is the latest achievement for the business, especially coming hot on the heels of the NSAR review only a few weeks ago.
“Rail is incredibly important to NIS – it was one of the drivers for the business being established and continues to be a vital part of our offer.
“Everybody is acutely aware of the stringent compliance requirements of the rail industry, given it is one of the most safety-critical sectors in which to operate.
“For us to continue to deliver high-quality training and be able to work with businesses within the industry and partners like the City of Wolverhampton College and West Midlands Combined Authority, we need to be at the top of our game.
“This audit reflects not only huge amounts of ongoing hard work within the business but also our commitment to being a trusted delivery body for many disciplines across the rail industry.”
